Microsoft 365 Teams
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Microsoft 365 Teams. Using Chat While channels are great for group communication, Microsoft Teams also provides **private chat** for one-on-one or small-group conversations. Chat messages are visible only to the people involved. Starting a Chat From anywhere in Teams, click the **New Chat** icon next to the search bar at the top of the window. In the **To** field, type the name of the person you want to message and select them from the suggestions. Type your message in the compose box and press **Enter** or click the send arrow. You'll notice a **status indicator** on the user's profile icon (green = available, yellow = away, red = busy). This helps you gauge whether you'll get a quick response. Replying to and Continuing a Chat When you receive a chat message, a **pop-up notification** and a badge on the Chat icon in the sidebar will alert you. Click the notification (or click the Chat icon and select the bolded conversation) to view and reply. To continue a previous conversation, click the **Chat** icon in the sidebar and select the contact's name from the list. Adding Users to a Chat To bring someone new into an existing chat: 1. Click the **Add people** icon in the top-right corner of the chat window. 2. Type the person's name and click **Add**. Note: A new message
