What is SharePoint? Microsoft SharePoint is a collaboration platform that allows multiple users to share documents, exchange ideas, and work together. **SharePoint 365** is Microsoft's cloud-based collaboration server that integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft 365 products such as Teams, OneNote, and Outlook. You interact with SharePoint through a web browser, logging in with your organizational credentials. Each SharePoint site contains components grouped in a meaningful way. A **team site** — one of the most commonly used templates — includes: A shared **document library** for the team's files A shared **OneNote notebook** A **home page** for news and announcements Integration with **Microsoft 365 groups** for streamlined management Creating Your Site To create a new SharePoint site, open your web browser and navigate to your Microsoft 365 home page. Click the **SharePoint tile** in the App Launcher pane. On the SharePoint launch page, click **Create site** at the top. You will be prompted to choose a site type — select **Team site** for most team collaboration scenarios. Next, enter your site name and description. As you type, SharePoint will auto-populate the group email and site address. Click **Next** when ready. You can now add additional **owners** and **members**. When finished, click **Finish**.
