Microsoft 365 PowerPoint: Part 1
A comprehensive introduction to Microsoft 365 PowerPoint for novice users. This course covers the PowerPoint interface, creating and saving presentations, formatting text and objects, adding graphical elements, working with tables and charts, and preparing and delivering a professional slide show.

Character Formatting Basics Character formatting changes the visual appearance of individual letters, words, or phrases. The four main attributes are: 1. **Font face** – The typeface (e.g., Calibri, Arial, Times New Roman). 2. **Size** – Measured in points. 3. **Color** – Applied from theme colors or a custom palette. 4. **Style** – Bold, italic, underline, shadow, strikethrough, and more. All of these options live in the **Font group on the Home tab**. You can also access them on the mini toolbar. To format new text, set your options before you type. To format existing text, select it first and then make your changes. The Font Dialog Box For comprehensive formatting in one place, open the **Font dialog box** by clicking the option button (small arrow) in the Font group, or by right-clicking text and selecting **Font**. The **Font tab** lets you set the face, size, color, underline style, and special effects. The **Character Spacing tab** controls the spacing between characters. WordArt To create a decorative text graphic, click **Insert → WordArt** and choose a style. Type your text to replace the placeholder. You can resize, move, and rotate WordArt like any other object.
